Does Dark Souls Remastered Come With DLC Complete Edition Details
Players jumping into FromSoftware's dark fantasy world often wonder if purchasing the remastered edition gives them the full package. Dark Souls Remastered includes the original game along with its critically acclaimed Artorias of the Abyss expansion built directly into the base download. This complete offering ensures that modern gamers experience every bit of content without needing extra purchases.
Inclusion of the Artorias of the Abyss DLC
When you purchase Dark Souls Remastered, you automatically gain access to the complete Artorias of the Abyss expansion. This DLC expands the original story by transporting players into the past to explore the fallen realm of Oolacile. It adds iconic boss encounters, unique weapons, and specialized armor sets that enrich the overall journey.
Because the expansion is bundled directly with the core game, there are no separate codes or external store downloads required. Everything is seamlessly integrated into the main campaign progression. You can access these high-level areas naturally as you advance through Lordran.
What the Remastered Complete Package Offers
Beyond extra story content, Dark Souls Remastered features significant technical enhancements compared to the original 2011 release. The game runs at a smooth 60 frames per second with upgraded high-definition visuals across modern platforms. These improvements create a far more fluid gameplay experience during intense combat sequences.
Multiplayer systems were also updated to utilize dedicated servers rather than peer-to-peer connections. This update makes cooperative summoning and player-versus-player invasions significantly more reliable. Players seeking a comprehensive Dark Souls collection will find this version offers the definitive standard.
How to Access the Included DLC Content
Although the DLC is included with your purchase, accessing it within the game requires completing specific steps. Players must first progress through the main campaign to reach the Darkroot Basin and retrieve a special item from the Duke's Archives. Once acquired, a portal opens up in Darkroot Basin that transports you directly into the expansion content.
Because the expansion features some of the toughest boss fights in the franchise, approaching it near the end of your adventure is recommended. This natural gating mechanism guarantees that your character is properly leveled for the steep challenge ahead.
Final Takeaway for Prospective Buyers
Dark Souls Remastered serves as a complete edition package that leaves no essential content behind. Whether buying digitally or on physical disc, you get the entire foundational Souls experience in one single purchase. It remains the absolute best way for new and returning players to conquer Lordran.
