Starting the Across the Realms Favor
To begin this quest, players must navigate to The Eternal Campfire region located within Midgard's Lake of Nine. Upon discovering a glowing campfire emitting rainbow-colored smoke, interact with the nearby recipe book on the ground. Reading this book officially initiates the quest and adds four specific ingredient targets to your goal list.
Locating Ingredients in Midgard and Svartalfheim
The first ingredient, the Nordic Gourd, is located just a few paces away from the campfire site in Midgard. Players can easily spot it resting on the ground near a ledge while retracing their steps back toward the sled. Next, travel to Svartalfheim to search for the Prongfruit, which is tucked away near the mining train area at The Forge.
Finding the Remaining Items in Alfheim and Vanaheim
The third ingredient, the Elven Cap, requires a trip to the Forbidden Sands region in Alfheim. Search near a massive fallen pillar on the western side of the desert plain to collect this glowing item. Finally, the Bantam Melon can be retrieved from The Sinkholes within Vanaheim's Crater region, sitting near the riverbank past the main gate.
Completing the Quest and Claiming Your Reward
Once all four ingredients have been successfully harvested from their respective realms, return to The Eternal Campfire in Midgard. Interact with the central cooking pot to combine the ingredients and prepare the legendary Meal of Comfort. Consuming this unique dish permanently increases all of Kratos's stats by five points, making it one of the most beneficial side quests in the entire game.
